Senior Consultant EcologistWould you like to pursue your interest in ecology based in the Bay of Plenty? Wildland Consultants is a progressive consultancy committed to the care and enhancement of our natural environment. Our mission statement is "To provide high quality and cost effective ecological information, advice and technical services to enable clients to achieve sustainable management and enhancement of indigenous biodiversity, ecosystems, and resource use." We specialise in ecological restoration, ecological evaluations and solutions, and biodiversity survey and monitoring, with offices throughout New Zealand and a nation wide client base. The Company provides high quality ecological information, advice, and technical services to a wide range of clients. We currently require an experienced Senior Ecologist, to be based in Rotorua. The preferred applicant will have a post-graduate degree in ecology, preferably a body of work experience in a relevant ecological discipline, very experienced in vegetation sampling methods, and very good knowledge of New Zealand vegetation and flora and other biota. You will also require excellent writing and personal communication/presentation skills, supervision skills, be suited to working in teams, and be competent with relevant computer software. Our Rotorua office is situated adjacent to the world class walking/running and mountain bike tracks in Whakarewarewa Forest ("The Redwoods"). We owe our success to leading technical expertise, a commitment to quality, and the exceptionally high calibre of our multidisciplinary team. We're currently looking for people to join our team on a casual basis, undertaking weed control and planting along two of West Auckland's most significant streams and in other restoration sites around Auckland. You will be involved in the removal of all pest plant species, and planting indigenous species, for which you require:-
