Freshwater and Estuarine Wetlands
Many surveys have been undertaken of freshwater and estuarine wetlands, including region-wide inventories and assessments of conservation value and management requirements (including water level management, weeds, and monitoring).
Staff have particular skills in the identification of wetland species and habitat/vegetation types and wetland restoration. Collaborative projects have been undertaken with Crown Research Institutes, including monitoring of wetland turf vegetation, a national review of the management of the margins of lakes and wetlands, and a review of riparian buffer management.
